At Long Furlong we’ve always made it a priority to ensure that the personal data we’re given is respected as confidential, and is protected as effectively as possible. Over the last few months we’ve been reviewing and updating our processes within school to ensure that all the data we hold – both electronically and on paper – is as secure as possible, and managed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. This review will be ongoing, as technology continues to change.
Our Data Protection policy has recently been rewritten and will be submitted for Governor approval at the meeting scheduled for 21st June 2018; if approved, it will be published shortly afterwards and we will notify members of the school community.
For information about the General Data Protection Regulation, please watch the short video below.
Data Retention Schedule
To help us manage our data effectively, and to ensure that we keep it for no longer than necessary, we have a Data Retention Schedule. This outlines how long we will keep data. The schedule can be viewed by clicking on the link below. You will see that a small number of entries are currently highlighted in orange; we have sought external advice on these, and will update them if necessary. The schedule will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in response to the needs of the school, and current legislation.
