Admissions
Nursery
We take children in the nursery from the term after they turn 3. The nursery is led by a qualified teacher, and is supported by early years practitioners. Each session can take up to 26 children and the ratio of adults to children is 1:13.
We offer:
- 15 hours universal entitlement
- 30 hours for eligible working parents with a valid code
Parents who receive only the 15‑hour universal entitlement and wish to extend their child’s place may purchase additional hours at £7 per hour.
- Purchased hours must be consistent
- They must be taken as a complete morning or afternoon session
Our full‑time provision runs for 32.5 hours per week, in line with the school day: 8:45–15:15. Children do not need to be collected at lunchtime and there will be no additional charge.
As a maintained Nursery Class, our curriculum planning, routines, and staffing rely on consistent daily attendance. This continuity supports children’s development and helps us deliver high‑quality Early Years practice.
Our nursery offer aligns with DfE funding guidance, and all children must attend in line with the following funding categories:
15‑Hour Universal Entitlement
- Children accessing the universal 15 hours attend five part‑time sessions per week (either mornings or afternoons).
- These hours must be taken consistently each week and cannot be combined into fewer full days.
- Attendance will be monitored to ensure we meet funding requirements and maintain consistency in curriculum delivery.
30‑Hour Working Parent Entitlement
- Children accessing the additional 15 hours (30 hours total) are offered a full‑time place aligned with the school day.
- Attendance will be monitored to ensure we meet funding requirements and maintain consistency in curriculum delivery.
- If a child does not attend their full allocation regularly due to parental choice, we cannot continue to claim the 30‑hour funding and this entitlement will stop.
If you have any questions about your entitlement, need to change your child’s funding, or would like support checking your eligibility for the additional 15 hours, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist.
Nursery admissions are managed by the school and must comply with Oxfordshire County Council’s Nursery Admissions policy, which can be accessed by clicking below.
